Nathan Hollister is an Emergency Medicine Physician and Director of the UNLV Institute of Arts + Medicine. He trained as a competitive gymnast through college before transitioning to the circus arts while in medical school. Dr. Hollister works closely with the College of Fine Arts, Kirk Kerkorian Medical School, and the UNLV Sports Innovation Institute to further biomedical and biomechanical research on injuries and injury prevention for circus artists and other extreme performers. Dr. Hollister continues to collaborate with local healthcare practitioners and academics to further our knowledge of performers’ unique needs and how to better deliver the care they require.
