OPEN LEVEL BALLET MEETS PILATES CLASS

Guest Instructor: Linda Hurkmans, M.A., Ballet Teacher, Choreographer and Certified Pilates Teacher

OPEN LEVEL BALLET MEETS PILATES CLASS will cover the correct execution, breathing, and flow of the original mat exercises created by Joseph Pilates. The exercises are designed to strengthen the core and body, while improving flexibility and balance. Linda will add exercises that she has developed over her own professional ballet performance career and her teaching experience of 25 years. She has used these exercises to help dancers, performers, athletes, and the general public to improve their correct alignment, turn out, strength, flexibility, overall body control, and kinesthetic sense. After warming up on the floor with Pilates mat work, we will stand and take a ballet class accessible to all levels. Linda will give clear instructions of Ballet terms, their meanings, and how to execute these movements correctly technically and artistically. Linda is known for her detailed and encouraging teaching and she looks forward to working with you!
