Healthy Performers NV Workshop
May 23-24, 2025

Healthy Performers NV is hosting the 1st annual Healthy Performers NV Southern Nevada Workshop on May 23-24, 2025.  In collaboration with numerous other medical professionals, allied health members and performing arts partners, it is our hope that we can better provide the performing arts community of Southern Nevada with valuable resources to be healthy and successful in their pursuit of the arts. To assist in meeting your unique needs, the event will be multifaceted with collaboration from, but not limited to, physical therapy, sports medicine, orthopedics, general health practices, psychology, nutrition, and exercise science professionals.  As well as top performing artists to help give their unique expertise in a variety of areas, including career planning and goal setting.

All are welcome! Pre-professionals and professional performers are welcome to enjoy a weekend of health and self-care for the performing artist.  Also, we will be offering something different for every performer to bring our performing arts community together. If you are a dancer or performer of any style, instructor, coach or teacher we are here to help you reach a healthier you.

We offer:

  • FREE Medical Care with health evaluations, injury screenings and pre-season screenings
  • Body Mapping education for musicians for performance enhancement
  • Pre-pointe readiness assessment for beginners in ballet
  • Health classes & lecture series
  • Movement classes and cross-training for dancers, gymnasts, and acrobats
  • Master classes

Healthy Performers Nevada is offering complimentary individual sessions to support dancers and gymnasts in their performance and well-being. We are performing arts’ medical experts here to help you with any injury, pain or questions you have. Come learn more about your body and what you need to continue dancing & performing at your best! Spots are limited, so register early to secure your appointment.

Available Services:

  • Pre-Pointe Readiness Assessment: Conducted by a licensed physical therapist, this evaluation determines a dancer’s readiness to begin pointe work by assessing strength, alignment, technique, and injury prevention.
  • Injury Evaluation: Led by a licensed orthopedic surgeon or physical therapist, this assessment reviews your medical and injury history, training routine, and physical condition to provide guidance, resources, and referrals for recovery planning.
  • Gymnastics Screening: This specialized screening identifies potential injury risks and areas for improvement to help prevent future injuries. Based on the results, targeted therapeutic exercise recommendations may be provided.
  • Dance Screening: This dance-specific screening will identify potential risk for injury and target areas for improvement to reduce risk of future injuries. Following the screening, recommendations for therapeutic exercise may be given depending on the results. If you are a dancer, looking to book due to an injury, please book an injury evaluation.

Friday attendees please note: Participants must have a valid UNLV summer parking pass or they must pay to park at the nearest parking locations. There is one free lot (Lot S), but it is on the opposite side of campus. Parking is enforced on Fridays from 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Parking is free to everyone on Saturdays!
